“Gain experience and grow as a sailor”
CROSSES AND NAVIGATION PRACTICES ON A LARGE SAILBOAT: VALENCIA-COLUMBRETES +110MN

Would you like to sail and learn on a large sailboat?
Do you want to gain knowledge, experience and security? Do you want to discover incredible places? Whether you are already a skipper or would like to become one, or you simply want to enjoy the sea and our coasts, come aboard the sailboat!

We propose a program where you will experience the life of a sailor, the excitement of sailing and the pleasure of discovering a unique environment, in a modern Dufourt 525 Grand Large. A large sailboat, ideal for learning and enjoying with great safety and comfort.

We will sail towards Columbretes, one of the most spectacular nature reserves in the Mediterranean. An archipelago formed by a series of islets (Illa Grossa, Ferrera, Foradada and Carallot) of volcanic origin and of great ecological value. Its settlement in the sea, 80 meters deep, has allowed red coral and a great diversity of marine species to be generated here. We will swim and dive at the bottom of what was once the crater of the volcano. And we will live a magical night under a spectacular starry sky.

It includes different workshops and practices for those who have learning objectives: Government and safety on the sailboat (The boat, the skipper and his crew, the steering position, instrumentation, RIPA, POB, EPIRB, abandonment, logbook, positioning in the chart, control and tasks on board...), night navigation (guards, lights, AIS, Radar...), sailing navigation (sails, maneuvering, headings, trimming...), anchoring, moorings in port and buoy...

Learn and experience as a sailboat skipper or simply sail and enjoy this great experience.

BOARDING: At 19:30h. at the Marina Real de Valencia DISEMBARKATION: At 19:30h. at the Marina Real de Valencia

    FRIDAY

Welcome and boarding. The boat is now perfectly stowed and ready to sail, so after settling in, we will have a first “GOVERNMENT, SAFETY AND NIGHT NAVIGATION WORKSHOP”. And now well prepared, after dinner, at around 11:00 p.m., we will set sail for the Columbretes Islands to experience a night crossing under the light of the moon and the stars. We will take turns keeping watch, positioning ourselves on the chart and checking the indicators and safety elements every 2 hours.

    SATURDAY

At around 8:00 a.m. we will practice mooring to one of the buoys on Grossa Island, the crater of the submerged volcano, since anchoring is prohibited as it is a protected area. After a good breakfast, we will discuss the program and divide up the tasks on board, and then swim or simply relax and enjoy the scenery. At 11:00 a.m. we will go ashore with the inflatable to learn about the fauna, flora and history of these refuge islands, on a curious guided tour. At around 1:00 p.m. we will be able to snorkel to observe the varied underwater life and a spectacular volcanic seabed. At around 2:00 p.m. we will enjoy an aperitif and after a tasty meal on board we will have free time. And in the afternoon we will have a new “SAILING WORKSHOP”, to put into practice during our next voyage. As the sun sets, we will enjoy the senses in this unique place. And after a good dinner we will identify, lying on the deck of the sailboat, some of the most important stars for sailors. Or we will simply let our imagination fly, awakened by an island lost under a starry sky.

    SUNDAY

At around 8am we will enjoy a good breakfast that will give us energy for our return journey. At around 9:30am we will head towards Valencia to put into practice all the sailing theory we learned the day before (course, trim and steering the boat) and if we are lucky we will enjoy a visit from our friends the dolphins. Mid-morning we will regain our strength with a light lunch and good coffee while we chat, read or let ourselves be carried away by the emotions transmitted by the sea. At around 2pm we will again have an aperitif and a good meal after which a pleasant conversation is guaranteed to share the whole experience.

And finally, at around 6:30 p.m. we will arrive at our base port in Valencia where we will say goodbye to what will surely have been a great shared experience.

*The guided tour does not take place from December to February. Alternatively, we will take a coastal cruise around the natural park or some other complementary workshop.

**The suggested program may change depending on the weather or the group's proposal.

My experience has been wonderful. Ignacio gives sailing workshops that clarify many doubts and shortcomings that are taken for granted when you take the PER exam. The route to Columbretes is very good and beautiful (except for a little more wind, something that Ignacio could not influence). I will definitely repeat it!!!'

Spectacular as always! It is the second time that I go with Ignacio to Columbretes. This time we had less luck with the wind but Ignacio kept us very entertained with the many workshops and knowledge of navigation. Even so, we were able to sail a good stretch and visit the Grossa Island of Columbretes.
