September and October are the months when you can still sail on days reminiscent of summer past, with less holiday traffic, less crowded harbors, gradually shorter days but with colors that only the imminent arrival of autumn can offer us.

We offer you a five-day cruise from Monday to Friday to the enchanting French Riviera or the barren and mysterious Corsica.

If we sail towards the French Riviera we will be able to visit the Lerins Islands with their Cistercian abbey, the Agay harbour, the Gulf of Saint Tropez, the charming village of Port Grmaud, the Little Venice of France, and on the return journey the Gulf of Saint Jean Cap Ferrat, the town of Menton.

If we sail towards Corsica, we will be welcomed by the magnificent Gulf of Girolata, one of the most beautiful corners of the Mediterranean, the Scandola Natural Park, a French marine reserve, Crovani beach, Calvi with its history-rich Citadel, the Desert des Agries, the evocative Saint Florent, and Centuri Bay.

  • Day 2. We set sail
After breakfast, we set sail towards the desired destination.Departure from Marina degli Aregai around 9:30 AM, after about 4 hoursof navigation within the Pelagos Cetacean Sanctuary, we will anchor in the bay of Cap Martin in the area known as "piscine" (pools) where we will swim in the crystal-clear waters and enjoy a good lunch.During the navigation, we may frequently encounter cetaceans from the Pelagos Sanctuary, especially dolphins; encounters with sperm whales and whales are also possible, and we can also practice trolling with the hope of catching some nice fish.In the afternoon, we will sail past Monte Carlo to reach, in the late afternoon, the bay of Cap Ferrat where we will spend the night at anchor or in port.

  • Day 3. The Lérins Islands
After breakfast, we will sail to cross the long Gulf of Nice and arrive at the Lérins Islands in front of Cannes. Here we can visit the island of Saint Honorat, cultivated with vineyards by the Cistercian Fathers, and the Monastery; the day will be spent between the island's mystical and silent atmosphere and swimming in the splendid waters of the bay.

  • Day 4. Saint Tropez and Port Grimaud
Navigation towards the Gulf of Saint Tropez awaits us, but first, we will stop in the Bay of Agay - Esterel massif - for lunch.\nIn the afternoon, we will sail towards the Gulf of Saint Tropez and spend the night in Canoubiers Bay next to Saint Tropez or in the wonderful Port of Port Grimaud, a shining example of the recovery of a degraded area.

  • Day 5. Saint Jean Cap Ferrat and the Bay of Beaulieu
This is what we keep as a wildcard, meaning that if the weather and sea conditions prevent us from carrying out the planned program, we might be forced to spend a day in a port or a shelter. If we find a particularly pleasant bay or port where the crew expresses a desire to stay for a night, we will use this day to satisfy those needs. It is the day the return journey begins. We will sail east to arrive by evening in the Bay of Beaulieu, where we can spend the night at anchor or in port. Obviously, there will be a midday stop, presumably at Cap d'Antibes in the bay of l'Argent Faux, where we will see the cliffs and its very pleasant waters.

  • Day 6. Return to Marina degli Aregai
Like the first day, departure will be around 9:30 AM to reach Marina degli Aregai. We will make a stop, just after re-entering Italian waters, in Giunchetto bay. We will arrive at the Port in the evening for the last aperitif on board and fair winds for everyone.

Boat details

Vania is a Bavaria 44 from 2004 refitted in 2019 that we usually use for outings with family and friends.
The base is in western Liguria in Marina degli Aregai between Imperia and Sanremo right in the center of the Cetacean Sanctuary.

From the port of departure you can reach in a few hours the fantastic bays of the Côte d'Azur characterized by the peace and relaxation of the islands of Les Lerin and Porquerolles to the prestige of the Principality of Monaco, from the elegance of Cannes to the worldliness of Saint Tropez.

With a navigation of about 90 mg. we arrive at the barren and unspoiled coasts of Corsica with beautiful bays and crystal clear water where it will be possible to moor in some bays accessible only from the sea and among all the magnificent Girolata and the fishing village of Centuri on the west coast where we can taste the famous freshly caught lobsters .

With a few more miles awaits us Elba, the third Italian island full of coves that create shelter in any weather and which, due to its geographical position and its morphology, is the ideal place to sail in peace even in strong winds.
