Tired of earthen processions? I suggest a sea one. This Holy Week, the sailboat is preparing for its most active version. We are not just looking for passengers; we are looking for crew members eager to maneuver, trimar and understand the secrets of the Strait of Gibraltar at one of the most exciting times of the year to sail.

We will take advantage of the spring winds for technical navigation. Here the “madness” of Cádiz is experienced with the winch in the hand and the eyes on the road. If you want to feel the true power of a Beneteau 39.3, this is your call.

    Maundy Thursday: Briefing and set-up.

14:00 — Boarding in Barbate: We started with an in-depth technical briefing. We review the gear, the expected currents and the crossing strategy.

Departure to Ceuta: We took advantage of the afternoon light. In this outing, we all participated in the guard. We will cross the Strait looking for the most efficient navigation under sail, learning to manage the traffic of the separation device.

Night in Ceuta: Crew dinner and rest after the first major stage.

Good Friday: training in the Strait.

Tomorrow of Maneuvers: Instead of staying alone in port, we will take a trip through the Bay of Ceuta and the surroundings of Isla Perejil to practice curls, changes of direction with current and optimization of sails.

Free Afternoon: Time to discover the city, its walls and its history, but with the navigator's “chip” already activated.

Holy Saturday: the challenge of the currents.

Coastal Route: We will sail to strategic points to observe the behavior of water in the Strait. It is the busiest day on board: constant trimming and steering the wheel. We will look for the best window to enjoy pure browsing.

Celebration Night: Last night in Ceuta sharing what you have learned and enjoying the local cuisine.

    Easter Sunday: the triumphant return.

09:00 — Heading to Barbate: We head home. We will apply everything we learned in the previous days to make a flawless crossing.

17:00 — End of the Expedition: Arrival at the port with the satisfaction of having mastered one of the most complex maritime passages in the world.

Other information
All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english and spanish)

Free extra! Join the boat transfer. For true lovers of miles and deep-sea sailing, we offer an exclusive opportunity at no additional cost:

The Wednesday before the expedition, we will carry out the technical transfer of the sailboat to our port of departure in Barbate.

What does it consist of? It is a positioning navigation, ideal for those who want to live the experience from the ground up, help with transportation maneuvers and enjoy an extra day at sea.

Conditions: This option is completely free for crew members already registered for the Easter trip (subject to availability of seats).

Logistics: If you have availability on Wednesday, let us know when making your reservation. It's the best way to “get on the boat” before the official adventure begins on Thursday.

⚠️ Important note on logistics and expenses. To make everything clear from the start and avoid misunderstandings on the platform, we will add these points in the “Expenses” section:

- Common fund: As is customary in shared navigation, the expenses of food, drink and possible port fees outside our base will be managed through a common fund between the crew members (the skipper is exempt).

- Meeting point: The official adventure begins on Thursday at 10:00 in Barbate, but if you join the transfer on Wednesday, we will coordinate the previous boarding point with you. On the night from Wednesday to Thursday, you spend the night on the boat.

We are waiting for you!

I recently sailed from Cadiz to Portugal and it was fantastic. Martín was an excellent skipper and a great companion. I'll remember this trip for his seamanship and all the laughs with my fellow sailors. Thank you.
