Our adventure begins in Cartagena – one of the oldest port cities in the Mediterranean. After boarding, introductions, and a safety briefing, we sail westward along the coast.
The first leg leads past the impressive Cabo de Gata Natural Park – Europe's only coastal desert with volcanic cliffs, secluded bays and the distinctive Siren Reef.
We travel via Almería to Almerimar, where the shipyard awaits us. Here we spend several days together working on maintenance and technical aspects: inspecting the rigging, sails, engine, electrical system, safety equipment, pumps, navigation systems, and much more. You'll learn how to plan maintenance work, check spare parts, and identify or resolve technical problems. Anyone who wants to can get involved in all areas – from oil changes to functional testing of all onboard installations.

There's time in between for excursions in the surrounding area, a stroll through the harbor towns, or simply relaxation. After completing the work, we continue sailing westward via Motril to Málaga, where our trip ends. During the sailing legs, we test all systems underway and enjoy the Andalusian coast in the golden autumn light.

Of course, you can also join us for part of the time!

This week is ideal for anyone wanting to learn more about yacht technology, maintenance, and preparation for long voyages. You'll gain practical insights into all onboard systems, have the opportunity to get hands-on experience, and ask questions. Our team will explain the procedures, offer tips, and share their extensive experience from many years of bluewater sailing.

Our Galini travels the world – and you can join her! With us, you're not an anonymous guest on a standard route, but part of a real crew, discovering new horizons together. We're not a typical charter company that sails the same tour every week. Instead, we sail together, experience authentic boat life, and embrace the adventure the sea has in store for us.

Climb aboard a superbly equipped, lovingly maintained boat and enjoy something special: With us, nothing is off the rack. Every trip is unique – sometimes spontaneous, sometimes planned, always full of surprises. Unplanned experiences are just as much a part of it as relaxing days on deck.

Our sailing trips combine vacation, adventure, mindfulness, and authentic boating life. Become part of our crew and experience a special time on Galini – authentic, communal, and full of adventure.

Route: Cartagena – Cabo de Gata – Almería – Almerimar (shipyard) – Motril – Málaga

Have you always wanted to know more about how a yacht works? Join us in Almerimar to prepare our yacht for the Caribbean winter season! This special trip combines relaxed coastal sailing along the Andalusian coast with a multi-day shipyard stay in Almerimar. You're not just a guest, you'll become part of the crew: you can lend a hand, receive explanations of all the important systems, and actively participate in maintenance work.

We'll sail together from Cartagena through the Cabo de Gata Natural Park to Almerimar, spend several days in the shipyard there, and then continue on to Málaga via Motril. Along the way, there will be time for crew life, the rugged Andalusian coast, and enjoying the golden autumn on the Mediterranean. However, the focus will be on the day-to-day technical aspects: maintenance, repairs, checks, and preparations will be the main focus. This will give you a unique insight into life and work on a long-distance cruising yacht.

Of course, you don't have to spend all day tinkering: If you like, you can use the time for excursions, strolling around town, or simply relaxing. We will, of course, cover the port fees in Almerimar.

In October: pleasant temperatures of 20–26°C, water temperatures of 20–22°C, winds of 2–4 Beaufort from westerly to southerly directions. Arrival via Murcia-Corvera Airport (RMU) or Alicante Airport (ALC). Departure via Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport (AGP).

Every day I am thankful for this beautiful life. I would like to share that. Normally, as an organizational developer, I accompany companies in change processes. When it comes to sailing, I want to contribute to making this adventure more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Boat details

Our yacht, a Hanse, stands for a comfortable and outstanding experience. It gives you a feeling of spaciousness, a calm atmosphere and offers the freedom you need for your activities. Nevertheless, it is fast, sporty and has great sailing performance. It was designed by Volvo Ocean Race Designers and is the fastest yacht in its class.

The large cockpit offers enough space for pleasant get-togethers and long conversations with a breathtaking panoramic view. On the sun deck you can be alone, take the time to read a book or enjoy the nature around you. The skipper's cabin has its own entrance. Even if you are supported by a professional crew, you still have your privacy.

The yacht is a modern Hanse 575. It has 4 double cabins and a cabin for the skipper. Each cabin has its own bathroom with electric toilet. Starlink, multi media, air conditioning, generator, 230 V in all cabins and Nespresso coffee machine. Solar panels, radar, AIS, watermaker, washing machine, bathing platform and a dinghy with an electrically powered outboard motor. Comprehensive safety and navigation equipment as well as many other equipment that you need to be self-sufficient.
The perfect yacht that meets the highest standards of safety, design, sailing characteristics and comfort.
