We made the Atlantic crossing back from Martinique to Cádiz in our catamaran Lagoon 440, which offers all the comforts for a trip of these characteristics, including survival suits on board, iridium, AIS, good first aid kit ...

We will leave the Caribbean and sail through the Atlantic towards Madeira, a Portuguese island that is a traditional crossing point for ships that return from American lands. From there, and with permission from the wind, we will head to Cádiz to end our adventure.

This will be my 9th Atlantic crossing. Join me in this adventure to enjoy an epic journey.

We will depart from Martinique between April 5 and 10 and calculate that in 18 days we will arrive in Madeira.

Once this Portuguese island is reached, it is possible that we will stop for a couple of days, depending on the weather (since it may be more convenient to continue our journey as we arrive).

Seven days after leaving Madeira we will arrive in Cádiz, where our adventure will end.

This route through the south is safer than through Bermuda and Azores, and we will take advantage of the great power autonomy that the catamaran has to avoid storms to the north.

Important: There is no specific arrival date and we can change the wrinkle port in case the weather requires it.

Additional information
You can come a week early and enjoy Martinique, Santa Lucia and the whole area while we prepare for the crossing. The stay is included, while the costs of mooring, fuel, food, etc., are shared. It also shares the bonus called Iridium. We will use SMS and we will be able to receive calls.

Atlantic crossings are less dangerous than a car trip, but they have their share of adventure. It is necessary to assume that we will be far from external aid and will depend on elements that we can not control, such as contrary winds, breakdowns and other conditions that may influence our planned schedule and itinerary.

That is, this is not a cruise with dates of departure and arrival, you have to be willing to take a little longer, stop in Tenerife if the weather requires it or have to wait a week in Madeira ... The wind sends and does not It is as reliable as the one-way trade.
