Giraglia Rolex Cup from San Remo

The ROLEX GIRAGLIA CUP starts San Remo, Italy. Established in 1953, to help repair relations between Italy and France after the Second World War, it has become one of the biggest sailing festivals of the Mediterranean.

If you are an experienced race crew and just starting out in racing and leanring the ropes this is a great ace for you. You will need to prove that you have sailing experience and know your way around a yacht, ideally at least Day Skipper level. We would also highly recommend that you have completed the ISAF Offshore safety and sea survival.

There are two days of pre race training which enables the team to get to know each other and learn to work together as a team. We are competative and out to sail the best race we can.

All in all an event not to be missed at the beginning of the summer regatta season.

Plan

The event starts in San Remo, arriving on afternoon of the first day, where we will have 2 days of training prior to the start of the coastal race to St Tropez preceding the late night start there is the legendary fireworks and oyster party to send us on a merry way.

On arriving in St Tropez there is 3 days of inshore racing with the customary St Tropez evening events including the main crew party.

The Giraglia offshore race with a route of over 243 nm starting with a mark in French waters off Cannes before heading for the Giraglia islet and returning to the Yacht Club Italiano in Genoa, where the prize giving will be held on Saturday. Departing on the morning of Sunday.

Other information

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (english)

Included in the cost is are the professional skipper and mate, the 2 days race training, team T- shirt, all safety gear, meals while racing onboard, regatta entry fees and marina costs.
The price does not include flights and transfers, personal insurance, onshore accommodation, meals ashore or wet weather kit.
