Our RYA Competent Crew Practical course will begin by spending the first day making you feel relaxed and ready to learn, your instructor will begin to explain sea terms and parts of a boat to you, taking one step at a time.
We cover the RYA Competent Crew course syllabus, but we also introduce you to more advanced skills in order to enhance your confidence. In addition, you will receive basic instruction on how to use the VHF radio, the procedures to follow should someone fall over the side, what to do if your skipper is incapacitated, a brief introduction on traditional and electronic navigation, basic engine maintenance and mechanical checks and much more.
We do our best to create a relaxed learning environment where learning becomes fun. We all make mistakes and sailing is one of those activities where no matter how experienced you are, you never ever stop learning.
