The Salt Route Regatta is an emblematic nautical event that combines the passion for sailing with the beauty of the Mediterranean. For more than three decades, sailors from all over the world have participated in this exciting competition. Below, we present the key aspects of this regatta:

Origin and Tradition: The regatta dates back to 1989, when a group of enthusiastic sailors decided to cross the Mediterranean from Denia (Alicante) to Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza. Since then, the Salt Route has been a symbol of camaraderie, challenge and adventure.

Challenging Route: The race course covers approximately 140 nautical miles of open sea. Participants sail from the east coast of Spain to the beautiful island of Ibiza. The journey involves strategy, night navigation and the thrill of facing the wind and waves.

Crew Diversity: The Salt Route attracts a wide variety of crew members:
Experienced Sailors: For experienced sailors, it is an opportunity to test their skills in challenging conditions.

Passionate Amateurs: It is also an excellent opportunity for those who want to experience deep-sea navigation and live the adventure of the sea.

Nautical Tourists: Some participants join simply to enjoy the beauty of the Mediterranean and the camaraderie on the high seas.

Competitive Spirit and Team Spirit: The regatta combines competition with camaraderie. Sailors compete for trophies, but they also share stories, laughter and unforgettable moments during deck dinners and starry nights.

Arrival in Ibiza: Arrival in Sant Antoni de Portmany is an exciting moment. Sailboats cross the finish line as salty breezes and the scent of pine fill the air. The presentation of trophies and the closing party are the perfect culmination for this adventure at sea.

The XXXVI edition of the Salt Route will take place from March 28 to 30, 2024. Here is the detailed program:

Day 0 (March 27)
From 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. - Registration of participants in the sports office and security/measurement controls
9:00 p.m. – Welcome buffet dinner with Gramona for all crews.

Day 1 (March 28):
Departure from Denia (Alicante): The sailboats will set sail from Denia to Sant Antoni de Portmany in Ibiza.
Islands of Formentera, Tagomago and Ibiza to port: Sailors will enjoy impressive views as they sail towards the final destination.

Day 2 (March 29):
Offshore Sailing: Participants will face navigation and strategy challenges as they progress toward Ibiza.
Friendly Competition: The regatta is an opportunity to compete, but also to enjoy the camaraderie between sailors.

Day 3 (March 30):
8:00 a.m.-10:00 p.m. – Reception for sailors in the regatta village
10:00 a.m. – Time limit ends
12:00h – Press conference with regatta winners in
the Sant Antoni de Portmany Yacht Club
8:00 p.m. – Trophy presentation ceremony in the Passeig de ses Fonts tent.

NEXT – Closing buffet dinner for all crews
at the Sant Antoni de Portmany Nautical Club and party.

Spectacular experience. The boat was impeccable, very comfortable and perfectly organized.
