Oslo Fjord and Skagerrak
Baltic Sea sailing at the most beautiful time of the year
Our tall ship sails the world's oceans year-round. While the cruising areas may vary greatly, the onboard routines share many similarities across all voyages. What can you expect on a sailing trip aboard this magnificent vessel?
Most journeys are designed so that we sail during the day and spend the nights in a harbor or at a sheltered anchorage.
Exceptions to this are the so-called transfer voyages, where a specific distance "from A to B" must be covered within a set time frame.
During these transfer trips, we usually spend several consecutive days at sea, with harbor stops and shore excursions being the exception rather than the rule.
The daily itinerary is explained in detail by the ship's captain using the nautical chart. Additionally, the operation of the various sails and ropes is covered in short "theory sessions."
The vast majority of our fellow sailors find this guidance very helpful, as it provides insight into deck operations and a better understanding of how everything works.
Shore excursions offer an exciting change of pace from life on board. The captain determines the schedule for each day's route, including the choice of a reachable harbor or anchorage for the night. This decision is often made the same day, based on current wind and weather conditions and, whenever possible, taking your preferences into account.
This way, you experience the journey as a delightful mix of active vacation, relaxation, adventure, sailing training, indulgence, and nature.
