Our 7-day sailing trips are designed to make the most of the beauty of the Aeolian Islands and the coast of Sicily. We flexibly adjust the itinerary depending on weather conditions and your preferences, ensuring you get the most out of your sailing trip.
Sample routes for your sailing trip
Here is an example of a possible itinerary during your 7-day sailing adventure, which will take you through the breathtaking scenery of Sicily and the Aeolian Islands:
Day 1: Arrival in Capo d'Orlando
Check-in: Upon your arrival in Capo d'Orlando, the starting point of your sailing trip, your skipper will greet you and show you the yacht. After a short briefing and settling into your cabins, you will have time to explore the surroundings.
Dinner: Enjoy a traditional Sicilian dinner at one of the local restaurants.
Day 2: Capo d'Orlando to Vulcano
In the morning: After breakfast, we set sail towards Vulcano, known for its volcanic activity and breathtaking beaches.
Afternoon: Arrival in Vulcano, where you can visit the famous "Black Beaches" and the hot springs. Take the opportunity to swim or hike up the volcano.
Day 3: Vulcano to Lipari
Morning: Continue to Lipari, the largest of the Aeolian Islands.
Afternoon: Free time to explore the charming town of Lipari, visit the cathedral or relax in one of the bars at the harbor.
Dinner: Enjoy local delicacies in one of the many restaurants.
Day 4: Lipari to Salina
Morning: Sail to the picturesque island of Salina, known for its vineyards and lush vegetation.
Afternoon: Visit the small villages of Rinella and Malfa, taste the local Malvasia wine and enjoy the scenic beauty.
Day 5: Salina to Panarea
In the morning: Set sail for Panarea, one of the smallest and most exclusive Aeolian Islands.
Afternoon: Relax on the beautiful beaches or explore the charming streets and boutiques.
Dinner: Enjoy the sunset with a leisurely dinner at one of the popular restaurants.
Day 6: Panarea to Stromboli
Morning: Continue to the impressive island of Stromboli, known for its active volcano.
Afternoon: Stay in San Vincenzo or Stromboli, where you can explore the crater-like volcano.
In the evening: You can witness the fantastic sight of lava flowing from the volcano at night. An unforgettable experience!
Day 7: Stromboli to Filicudi and Alicudi
Morning: Sailing to Filicudi, a relatively untouched island.
Afternoon: Exploring the beaches and villages; opportunity for snorkeling or relaxation.
Evening: Return to Capo d'Orlando, final evening to discuss the experiences and enjoy the time at sea.
Whether you're sailing for the first time or already have experience, with us you can actively participate in the sailing process. Take the helm, hoist the sails, and learn from our experienced skippers. They'll show you the basics of sailing and share their passion for the sea with you.
The starting point is Capo d'Orlando, the marina which is easily accessible by plane, train, transfer or car. From Capo d'Orlando we reach the Aeolian Islands in 3 to 4 hours.
We will meet on Saturday from around 4 pm at the yacht, or later, depending on arrival times.
We set sail on Sunday morning - after breakfast.
Our sailing trips involve "active participation" and all work on the ship is done together; as a team we trim our yacht for a fast sail.

Our sailing trips are led by an experienced team of skippers who not only possess excellent sailing skills but are also intimately familiar with the region. All skippers speak German and will guide you safely to the most beautiful spots. Your safety and well-being are our top priority!
Helpful information:
Getting there: There are many good flight connections from all over Europe to Palermo and also Catania (Sicily). From there you can easily reach the Capo d'Orlando marina – our starting point – by train or transfer.
Even with your own car, you can easily reach Palermo by ferry from Genoa or Livorno. This option is particularly recommended if you want to explore Sicily for a few days before or after your tour, which is definitely worthwhile – it's well worth seeing.
Check-in on the yacht is expected to be possible on Saturdays from approximately 5:00 PM (or later, depending on arrival time). We normally use Sunday to organize the remaining arrangements with the ship, authorities, etc.
Weather permitting, we can set sail after breakfast – heading towards the Aeolian Islands. On most of our Sicily tours, we sail to the following islands: Vulcano, Lipari, Salina, Panarea, Stromboli, Filicudi, Alicudi, etc. (However, variations are possible.)
Return after the sailing trip – arrival in the home port is planned for Friday afternoon or possibly early evening. Sleeping on the yacht is possible, but departure is required on Saturday – after breakfast – at approximately 8:00 AM.
Return journey: Since you'll be arriving back in your home port on Friday evening, your return flight could potentially be on Friday evening if you can book a better or cheaper flight. The yacht is moored in the "Capo d'Orlando" marina in northern Sicily – just below the Aeolian Islands.
Bring along: Lightweight foul weather gear (rain and wind protection), boat shoes with light-colored, non-slip soles, swimwear, summer clothing, passport, teamwork skills, and a good mood, etc. We always send further information about arrival, clothing, the yacht, etc., with the booking documents. You are welcome to bring your own fishing equipment (it's sometimes worthwhile); a fishing license is not required for this region.
