1ST RAIL: VALENCIA-VALENCIA COAST (20 NM)
Welcome and boarding. The boat is already stowed and prepared to sail, so after getting settled, we will get to know the sailboat and we will have a first STEERING, SAFETY AND NAVIGATION WORKSHOP, delving into the aspects related to steering and safety, both in daytime and nighttime navigation.
Once these objectives have been achieved, we will have a second HIGH HIGH NAVIGATION WORKSHOP, where we will analyze the meteorology, plan the route and organize the watches and tasks on board. And finally we will become practically familiar with the maneuver of the boat, under sail and motor. And now well prepared, around 8:00 p.m. we will begin our night journey.
2nd ROUTE: VALENCIA COAST-COSTA DEL AZAHAR-EBRO DELTA-COSTA DORADA (85 NM)
During this voyage we will have a SAILING NAVIGATION WORKSHOP to obtain the best performance from the sailboat. Our course will be towards the Ebro Delta (35º) through the Valencia Coast, already dawning on the Costa del Azahar. As the weather permits, we will enter the Alfaques Bay, a natural area of great beauty on the Costa Dorada, where we can cool off and observe water birds such as flamingos. In the middle of the afternoon we will head towards the Costa Brava (56º).
3rd ROUTE: COSTA DORADA-COSTA BRAVA (100 NM)
We will coast during the night, and in the morning we will have a new COASTAL NAVIGATION WORKSHOP placing ourselves practically on the chart using the bearing compass, which we will systematically apply until our final port of arrival. In the middle of the afternoon we will leave Barcelona on the port side and continue our course towards the north.
4TH SOURCE: COSTA BRAVA-MEDAS ISLANDS-ROSAS BAY (50 NM)
New night navigation placing ourselves on the chart, this time using the lighthouses, to arrive early at the Medes Islands, one of the most important marine reserves in the Mediterranean. We will not miss the opportunity to cool off in its crystalline waters. And from here we will head towards the Bay of Rosas, considered one of the most beautiful in the world, where we will land around noon, to spend the afternoon and spend the night anchored in one of its coves or perhaps mooring in one of its ports.
Here we will specify the best strategy to cross the mythical Gulf of León (a true experience for sailors). It is good to wait, if the weather is not favorable, enjoying the areas of interest and countless coves near this area: Medes Islands, Empuriabrava, Cadaqués, Port Vendrés..., to jump directly to Marseille as soon as possible. Or, preferably, reach Marseille through the city of Séte, in the North of the Gulf of Lion, as indicated below.
5TH SOURCE: BAY OF ROSAS-GULF OF LEÓN-SÈTE-COSTA AZUR (80 NM)
We will enter the Gulf of Lion, pointing our bow towards the beautiful city of Séte (13º), with its indigo sea at the foot of French Provence. In the early afternoon we will moor in its beautiful old port. And at sunset we will enjoy the good atmosphere that is breathed in this old and vibrant city, and perhaps a good dinner in any of its charming restaurants.
6TH SHIPPING: SÈTE (FREE DAY)
Today we will have a well-deserved day of rest to get to know the beautiful city of Séte. We can walk along its canals and bridges, and admire its typical colorful buildings. Free day for everyone to enjoy as they wish. Rest, walk, taste its delicacies directly from the sea... any individual or group plan will be more than successful.
7TH SPANISH: SÈTE-MARSEILLE (75 NM)
At dawn we will head to Marseille (95º). We will sail along the Camargue, one of the most beautiful areas of Provence. Leaving Saintes Maries de la Mer on the port side and entering the Bouches-du-Rhône, we will arrive towards sunset at the Vieux Port, the beautiful fortified port of Marseille, in the very center of the city, where we can discover its lively nightlife.
8TH SHIPPING: MARSEILLE (FREE DAY)
Today we will get to know this cosmopolitan and pulsating city from its nerve center where we will have our sailboat moored. From here we have many places of interest very close. We can stroll through the streets, visit the fish market and, why not, taste an authentic and delicious bouillabaisse.
9TH SOURCE: MARSEILLE-COTE D'AZUR-HYÈRES ISLANDS (55 NM)
We will have breakfast very early to experience the morning atmosphere of the old port. We will continue our route, already on the French Riviera (112º), looking for the national park of Les Calanques, to arrive at the Hyères Islands, a paradise where we will anchor to enjoy its impressive turquoise waters and a beautiful night under the stars . We will take advantage of navigation to learn at least 5 basic knots in a new “ROBE WORKSHOP”.
10TH SHIPPING: HYÈRES ISLANDS- COSTA AZUL-NICE (55 NM)
We will weigh anchor at dawn, to begin our last voyage towards the Northeast (45º). Leaving the gulfs of Saint-Tropez and Cannes on the port side, we will sail along the most famous French Riviera on the Côte d'Azur to our port of arrival, in the heart of the city of Nice. Towards the middle of the afternoon we will moor, ending the program after more than 500mn of navigation and we will say goodbye to what will surely have been a great shared experience.
