Our journey across the Baltic Sea begins in Wiek on the island of Rügen.

On our journey through Kiel and Lübeck Bays, we pass places such as Heiligenhafen and the sunny island of Fehmarn. There we can linger and enjoy the scenery before continuing our journey towards Kiel and the lock chambers of the Kiel Canal.

It is quite common for pleasure boats to pass through locks together with the enormous "ocean liners". Should this be the case, we are treated to a spectacular sight: a 51-foot sports yacht seems to shrink to a toy miniature in direct comparison with these steel giants.

Note: The onboard language on this trip is German.

    Wiek on Rügen - Hamburg
    May 10, 2026, 5:00 PM May 16, 2026, 10:00 AM

    Coastal sailing / 200 nm

The Kiel Canal is the busiest artificial waterway for seagoing vessels in the world. In 2014, 32,600 ships used this waterway.
The canal saves ships from circumnavigating Jutland and crossing the Skagerrak and Kattegat sea areas, resulting in a saving of approximately 250 nautical miles, depending on the port of departure or destination. Upon reaching Rendsburg, we have covered roughly half of the nearly 100 km route before the lock in Brunsbüttel releases us onto the Elbe River.

A trip up the Elbe to the City Marina in Hamburg is always an unforgettable experience. With the "Elfie" as a backdrop, we will end our cruise at the Hamburg Landungsbrücken (landing bridges).

This sailing trip on the Elbe and Baltic Sea combines qualified ship management with a yacht certified by the German Social Accident Insurance Institution for the Transport Sector (Berufsgenossenschaft Verkehr).

We are sailing on the Lotte, a Bavaria C51 from 2017. The Lotte is a special ship and is designed without restrictions for offshore use and has been approved by the employers' liability insurance association.
She handles even high waves with ease and impresses with her excellent seakeeping. Comfort and dynamism have been combined without compromise, so that a pleasant atmosphere on board and an intense sailing experience await us.

    Welcome on board!

Final cleaning:

The final cleaning of the yacht is usually carried out by the crew at the end of the trip. To allow you to pack in peace and leave the boat without the hassle of cleaning, I will take care of the final cleaning for you (not valid for trips in the Azores).

This means a relaxed arrival and a pleasant departure for you.

One yacht, one skipper:
I'm your skipper! You can contact me and get to know me during your trip preparations. If you're unsure about anything or have any questions, please give me a call. I'm happy to assist you and answer any questions you may have. I know the yacht inside and out and offer professional, safe, and personalized skippering tailored to your specific needs.

Shopping lists/recipes:
Upon request, I will compile recipes and a corresponding shopping list tailored to the number of participants and your culinary preferences. A holiday feeling from the very first minute.

Background/Additional Information:
You'd like to take a shore excursion, or perhaps you haven't yet had time to find out what awaits you at our destination port. You'll receive this information on board, and if any questions remain unanswered, I'm happy to assist with your research.

Onboard cash:
At the start of the trip, each participant contributes approximately €100 to the ship's kitty. This covers provisions including drinks, fuel, harbor fees, gas, and diesel fuel consumed. (The skipper is exempt.)
