Plan
Sailing without a thorough understanding and proper execution of basic knots not only leads to embarrassment but can also compromise safety on board.
What we will do:
Morning:
Theory (about 1 hour) – Types of tops, characteristics, materials, elements that reduce the workload
Classroom practice (about 2 hours) – Cutting a rope with a hot tool, tying and making the main knots
Afternoon:
Boat practice (approximately 4 hours) – Recognize current maneuvers and clarify them, essential knots on the boat, throw a rope, secure a mooring, recover the mooring line from a dead body, hoist a flag on the shore, secure the mooring lines to the boom, prepare ropes to pass the double line
Before the final debriefing, the timed team relay race included simulations not only of the nodes but also of specific application situations, to ensure the team was ready when the time came.
WHO IS IT RECOMMENDED FOR?
Student captains taking nautical license courses who want to master the steps and memorize all the knots required to pass the practical exam;
Certified skipper who still can't tie knots (you can't hear it!);
Enthusiast who is usually part of the crew but doesn't even know how to tie a fender (know that the boat hook is more useful than you!);
A knowledgeable captain who recognizes the need for effective assistance on board during docking maneuvers, attentive eyes and skilled hands are always welcome (give or recommend this course to someone you know!)
