Coastal navigation techniques in Valencia

Half-day theoretical training in which we will study the main techniques of coastal navigation, dead reckoning and positioning on board the boat.

From the unbeatable environment that the Valencian coast provides us, we will have a first theoretical part and after a coffee break we will go sailing and put into practice what we have studied.

We will return to port to say goodbye before lunchtime.

Plan

08:30h - Boarding and welcome on board.

09:00h - First part: Theory of coastal navigation. We will review all concepts studied during the PER of chart positioning and dead reckoning navigation. Nautical needle, magnetic declination and deflection.

11:00 a.m. - Rest and coffee

11:30 a.m. - Second part: Coastal navigation practice. We will put into practice everything we have learned, with the necessary instruments, nautical chart, rules, bearing compass, etc.

1:30 p.m. - End of the course

Very interesting course, we saw all the methods of dead reckoning, positioning, tides, etc. Miguel explains the concepts very well and it is clear that he masters them. He is patient and doesn't mind repeating things a thousand times. He is a great teacher, I am sure I will sign up for other courses.
