⛵ Sailing Sessions Program — Valencia Nautical School: Learn to sail a sailboat in a practical and fun session.

Program of the activity

During the sailing session, you will learn the basic concepts and the fundamental maneuvers to operate a sailboat safely. The activity combines brief explanation on land and continuous practice in the water.

1. Welcome and preparation:

- Presentation of the instructor and the sailboat.

- Quick review of safety material.

- Explanation of the wind and conditions of the day.

- Distribution of roles on board.

2. Foundations of sailing:

- How sails work and how to take advantage of the wind.

- Basic directions and orientation at sea.

- Initial term of majority and Genoa.

- Rudder control and boat balance.

3. Essential maneuvers:

- Turned and shattered.

- Safe course changes.

- Coordination between crew members.

- Adjustment of sails in each direction.

4. Practical navigation:

- Sailing in saddle, across and aft.

- Control and stability exercises.

- Teamwork on board.

- Safety practices while browsing.

5. Closing the session:

- Review of maneuvers.

- Tips from the instructor for further progress.

- Final questions and recommendations.
