Cruising sailing school (initiation) in Valencia

Departure to gain experience and safety in navigation.
Boarding is at Marina Port Valencia.

Aimed at people who are starting out in the world of recreational boating and want to develop skills with sailing boats.

The objective is to develop confidence and overcome fears of sailing, expanding experiences in the following areas:

- Port maneuvers.
- Correct use of the radio.
- Use of safety elements on board.
- Concepts and practice with candles.
- Navigation directions.
- Sail trimming.
- Marine Engines.
- Marine knots

Plan

The duration of the trip will be 5 hours, with embarkation and disembarkation at Marina Port Valencia.

Departure scheduled for 09.00h.
Expected arrival at 2:00 p.m.

First of all, we will familiarize ourselves with nautical terminology, we will see all the safety equipment that we must carry on board, we will talk about nautical legislation, we will practice nautical knots, we will see weather applications, we will steer the boat and we will sail within the inner dock to familiarize ourselves with the sailboat.

Later we will go out to the open sea.
There we will raise the main sail, unroll the genoa and sail, listening to the wind and the waves breaking on the hull of the sailboat.

We will practice tacking, gybing, putting the sailboat tow, sailing French style, anchoring, etc.
The bravest will have the chance to take a dip!
We will sail in different directions (close hauled, beam and broadside), we will see how to trim the sails, we will put in reefs if necessary, we will lower the mainsail and we will even dock at the pontoon.

We will make you feel like you are the Captain of the ship!

All crew members are welcome, even if they do not know the language spoken on board (spanish)

Come with comfortable clothing, boat shoes or shoes with white soles and sunscreen!

Boat details

24-foot sailboat, fully equipped and with all the material to teach classes on board.
It has a through mast, rear spreaders, a beam of 2.70 m, a lead centerboard weighing 650 kg and a draft of 1.45 m. Design category C. Fully watertight sailboat, it has no through hulls or stern tube.
We carry on board all the safety and navigation equipment: plotter, GPS, compass, binoculars, log, depth sounder, alidade, fixed VHF with DSC, portable VHF, AIS, hydrostatic vests, lifelines, complete zone 4 pyrotechnics, etc.
The boat has a huge cockpit that can accommodate 6 crew members, with both an indoor and outdoor chart table.
