RYA Day Skipper course in Badalona

Become an experienced skipper with the ability to navigate familiar waters during the day thanks to this RYA Day Skipper course. This course is aimed at beginner sailors who already have some sailing experience and who have mastered some basic theoretical concepts of navigation.

During the course you will assume the command of the skipper and the responsibility of the sailboat in brief passages. The instructor will provide you with advice and support throughout the navigation. The key element of the course is that you feel the responsibilities of being a patron and that you become capable of making the right decisions to arrive safely at the destination form.

The Day Skipper course itself consists of 5 consecutive days of navigation, with a maximum of 5 students on board, speaking English, learning and demonstrating navigation knowledge during a continuous evaluation with an RYA instructor, who will decide at the end of the course if it is apt or not to obtain the title.

Directed course for people with little experience (5 days and 100 miles).

Content of the Day Skipper course:
Preparation for the sea, deck work, navigation, patronage, meteorology, International Regulations, maintenance and repair work, engines, provisioning, emergency situations, handling motor boats, handling sails, night crossings, use of navigation charts in paper and electronic, DSC calls and use of the radio, use of flares, safety harnesses, use of lifeguards and rafts.

The hours are from 09:30 a.m. to 06:30 p.m.

Other information

This course is taught in spanish. You must have a sufficient level of this language to be able to follow the course.

Minimum of 4 students signed up to take the course.

Previous experience required: 5 days sailed, 100 miles and 4 hours at night.

Knowledge prior to the course: Basic navigation. Day Skipper Theoretical Course.

Language in which the course is taught: English.

Course duration: 5 days.

Minimum age to sign up: 16 years.
