Minimum age: 17 years.

Please note: These are the minimum requirements for RYA certification, however, our experience tells us that significantly more sailing experience than the above is required, at least RYA Day Skipper. Since the level of theoretical knowledge required is high, we strongly recommend taking the Yachtmaster shore-based theory course, now also available online.
What do you get?
The course is designed to provide the skills and confidence needed to plan and execute longer sea crossings, including night watches. We will include at least one long crossing (>12 hours), including night piloting in an unfamiliar port or marina. You will learn to assess the vessel and crew's capabilities, ports of refuge, weather conditions, and more. During the course, you will learn to:

We will practice numerous sailing maneuvers, including man-overboard recovery, buoy recovery, and navigating tight spaces.
You will plan and execute piloting in unfamiliar ports or marinas, even at night.
You will spend the week aboard our yacht, visiting many of Croatia's wonderful bays and ports.
With a maximum of 5 students per yacht, your instructors will be able to dedicate as much time as necessary to your needs and focus the program on the areas you need most.
Examination
There is no formal exam to obtain the Coastal Skipper certificate. The instructor will monitor your progress throughout the week, providing regular feedback on areas for ongoing evaluation and constantly adjusting the plan to address any gaps. At the end of the week, there will be a final individual debriefing, the outcome of which should not surprise anyone.
If you pass the exam, you will be awarded the RYA Coastal Skipper certificate!
