If you already have the Basic Safety Training certificate and it has expired/expired or is going to expire, you must take a recycling course that corresponds to 20% of the hours of the original course. This course is in person and takes place in Ibiza (Balearic Islands).
The cases in which your certificate will not expire and you will be able to renew it at the Maritime Captaincy by simply completing the procedure will be:
- Have held the position of sailor for at least 1 year of the last 5 years.
- Have held the position of sailor for at least 3 months during the last year.
The refresher course schedule is only 16 hours of practice (it does not contain theory according to the Resolution of September 21, 2016 of the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy).
When you have passed the refresher course, our center approved by the DGMM will give you a diploma and explain the guidelines for you to go to the Maritime Captaincy to process your certificate renewal.
