1. Cala D'Hort

Cala D’Hort
Cala D’Hort

Cala D'Hort is located in the heart of the nature reserve and is situated close to the famous islets of es Vedrá and Es Vedranell. It is a quiet beach, 8 km from Sant Josep, although it is true that it is becoming more and more popular during the summer months.

It can only be reached by car or boat. If you go by car, there is a lot where you can park your car, but it fills up quickly in high season so you will have to park a little further away.

However, if you rent a boat and go to the area, it is very quiet and you can anchor for the day. There is plenty of room for all the boats that come to the area, so there will be no problems.

It is a sandy and rocky beach where you will find fishermen's huts, 3 restaurants and a shop where you can buy whatever you may have forgotten, such as a bikini, a hammock or a float.

In the restaurants you can enjoy fresh fish and seafood paellas. If you want to try their delicious meals, we recommend you book so you don't miss out on a table:
  • Es Boldadó : in this restaurant you can enjoy Ibizan fish and seafood with spectacular views of Es Vedrá and Es Vedranell on a cliff. It is a perfect place to have dinner while enjoying the sunset so characteristic of this cove.
  • Cala D´Hort or Ca Na Vergera: in this restaurant we recommend their paella or their rice soup. In addition, their bread with alioli is their specialty and you cannot leave without trying it.
  • El Carmen: a place with an excellent quality-price ratio. You will see seafood paellas being passed to all the tables, a sign that they are incredible. You will have to try it to see for yourself. If you book in advance, you can get a table on their terrace on the front row above the sand.
If you are passionate about snorkelling, this is your place. The waters are very shallow, with rocky and sandy bottoms where you can observe the seabed.

After an amazing meal and a bit of snorkelling in the area, it's time to enjoy one of the most famous and impressive sunsets on the island. It's one of those sunsets that stays etched in your retina and you'll never forget. You'll have thousands of photos on your phone to show your friends.

2. Aigües Blanques Beach

Aigües Blanques Beach
Aigües Blanques Beach

On the island of Ibiza, Aigües Blanques beach is listed as one of the best in our country. Its 300 metres of soft golden sand are surrounded and protected by cliffs and you can enjoy a clear and calm sea, ideal for snorkelling.

It is difficult to access by car, but it is very well signposted. You will have to pay a small parking fee (3€), which is also a bit far from the beach and you will have to walk to get there. But you can avoid all this if you go with your own boat.

Those who have visited it describe it as "a wonderful and wild beach." It is a declared nudist beach where everyone is accepted, as long as they respect others.

It is not a very busy beach, but we still recommend getting up early to see the spectacular sunrise that can be seen from the area. You won't have to get off your boat and while you have breakfast you will be able to watch the sunrise, which you will always remember.

This beach is called “Aigües Blaques” or “White Waters” because it has a large, flat area that runs down to the sea, where the waves break and it is always full of sea foam. Hence the name “white waters”.

Surrounded by cliffs and clay, you can take a mud bath, which is very beneficial for your skin, before entering the sea. Your skin will surely thank you and be cleansed of the impurities it is always exposed to.

This area is perfect for snorkelling when the wind is calm and when there is a stronger wind, we can practice surfing or body boarding.

3. Ses Illetes

When you think of paradise… What comes to mind? Surely the beaches of the Caribbean… Those beaches are great, but what if we told you that there are paradisiacal beaches much closer than you thought?

At Sailwiz we want you to know the beach listed as the most beautiful in Europe and one of the most beautiful in the world on several occasions: Ses Illetes.
This beach in Formentera will leave you speechless from the moment you see it until you leave, which is something you won't want to do.

Ses Illetes beach is compared to a paradise, it has a clear and calm sea, sand dunes and a perfect horizon. Thanks to its large extension, you will find space to enjoy an incredible day on this beautiful beach.

We recommend that you go by bike, motorbike or boat. Access to the beach by motorbike or car is controlled, so depending on when you go, you will have to pay between €2 and €4 for motorbikes and between €4 and €6 for cars.

There are only 400 parking spaces for cars and when these are full, they don't let anyone else in. So, in high season it is advisable to get up early to enjoy an incredible day on this beach.

There are more than 1,000 spaces for motorcycles, so it is easier to find a place to park. As with cars, when the parking lot is full, no more passage is allowed.

For bikes it's completely different. You won't have to pay to get in and there is no limited access, so all bikes that want to can get in.

As we don't want you to suffer from sunstroke due to the sun and high temperatures in summer or to be left without a place to enter the beach, the best thing is to rent your own boat and arrive at Ses Illetes when you want and leave after having seen the sunset.

This beach is perfect for practising different types of sports such as paddle surfing to the island of S'espalmador with one of the companies you can find in the area. You can also go diving and discover the posidonia meadows that you will find throughout the area.

On the beach you will find 4 beach bars where you can eat and some more in the surrounding area. Considering where they are located, they are not the cheapest options but it is worth it for the quality of the food:
  • Juan y Andrea: This is probably one of the best-known restaurants on the island. We recommend you book and try the fish of the day, it will surely surprise you. The prices are a bit high, but considering where it is and the quality, you should go.
  • Kiosko Restaurante El Pirata: its location makes it a unique place. Right on the beach you can enjoy exquisite seafood paellas or fresh local fish. For those who just want to have a drink, you can't leave here without trying their sangria while watching one of the best sunsets on the island.
  • Es Ministre: in high season it is usually very busy so we always recommend that you make a reservation so you can enjoy its delicious meat, fish, seafood and, of course, paella dishes.
  • Es Molí de Sal : here, after a hard day at the beach, you can enjoy a spectacular dinner accompanied by the sunset that this area offers. You will have grilled meats, fried foods from another world and fish of the day.

Since it is a well-known area, it will always be very crowded, especially during high season. To avoid this, it is best to arrive at the beach by boat. You can enjoy the views and the beach just as much, or even more, without having to fight with anyone to get the best spot or having to get up early to do so.

4. Calo des Mort

Calo des Mort
Calo des Mort

If you want to avoid the crowded places among the Pitiusas, we recommend that you head towards Calo des Mort, a small corner of Formentera with just 70 metres of beach, in a unique and idyllic setting surrounded by cliffs and huts, at the end of Migjorn beach.

As it is such a small beach, we recommend getting up early to get a spot and enjoy the beach as much as possible. Here you will not find any type of service such as restaurants, kiosks, sunbed or umbrella shops, so you will have to be well equipped to spend the day.

This cove can be one of the ones you visit in a week by boat with your friends. If you want to know how to rent a boat, read these 10 tips from Sailwiz. It is a perfect area for diving due to its crystal-clear waters surrounded by rocky areas where you can observe marine fauna. However, if you prefer to go on a hiking route after spending so much time on the boat, there are different routes along the coast from this cove. You can walk through S' Estufador, Es Ram or La Mola. If you go to La Mola on a Wednesday or Sunday, stop to see its craft market at sunset with live music.

If you go by car, you should know that there is no parking in the area. Therefore, you will have to park near the turnoff after Es Caló de Sant Agustí towards Caló des Mort or next to Es Copinyar beach and walk 5 minutes to the cove. Wear appropriate footwear, as it is a wild area and there is no paved road. If you go to the Casablanca restaurant, you can take the path on the left next to a car rental shop. This path will take you directly to the cove.

You can arrive by boat and anchor in front of the beach. The water is 8 metres deep. You can take a swim and enjoy a meal on the boat with spectacular views. The coordinates for your arrival are: 38°39'27.830' N - 01°31'12.71'E.

5. Cala Conta

Cala Conta
Cala Conta

Cala Conta or platges de Comte is a group of coves considered to be among the best coves in Ibiza where you can find restaurants and beach bars in the purest Ibizan style.

Its turquoise and transparent waters will invite you to spend a lot of time in them diving and cooling off after sunbathing on its white sand beach.

You can get there by car, motorbike, bus or boat. Access to cars and motorbikes is prohibited by a barrier, so you will have to leave them in an area to the left of the barrier. But be careful, if it is full you will not be able to leave your car or motorbike anywhere else, because if you leave it outside of there, for example on the road, you risk getting a fine as a souvenir.

You can arrive by bus from the port of San Antonio, taking a tour of San Antonio Bay until you reach these two coves.

Since it has become very popular in recent years, we always recommend going by boat, as it is one of the best places to anchor on sand at a depth of 2 or 3 metres. The landscape changes a lot, seeing it from land full of people crowded together or seeing it from the sea with all the space you want for you and your friends or family.

You can sunbathe on the sand or flat rocks. Its shallow, crystal-clear waters make it an ideal place for children to enjoy themselves without having to worry about the currents.

In this cove you will find one of the first beach bars that opened on the island and which after years is still going strong. It has a touch of meditation and tranquility and will catch your attention because it is at the highest point between the two beaches and is red in colour. We are talking about Sunstet Ashram where you can enjoy vegetarian meals, pizzas, wagyu burgers and much more. Always go with a reservation as it is usually very busy.

If you prefer more traditional and local food, 200 metres away you will find S'illa d'es Bosc . The most recommended? Their rice with lobster, cava sangria and salt-baked fish.

After a good meal in the area, relax while looking at the landscape and in the afternoon, go snorkelling and enjoy a beautiful sunset from the boat, one of the best on the island.
