Family Training with RYA Course Chiavari

Time for the family to relax and enjoy the beautiful Ligurian Coast, accompanied by one of our RYA Instructors. This 7 days course is designed specifically for families wanting to build their confidence, qualifications and experience in advance of future independent charters.

Those wanting to complete an RYA course the pressure is off as there is ample time to complete an RYA syllabus either Competent Crew or Day Skipper, with the remaining time spent enjoying cruising the blue Mediterranean and visiting some of the most beautiful anchorages in the world. There will be many opportunities to dive off the boat and snorkel in warm clear water to your heart’s content. You will even get the opportunity to undertake magical night passages. Every step of the way your instructor will be on hand to help and reassure you. Our aim is that you will leave the boat relaxed, qualified and confident in your family’s ability to consider an independent charter in the future.

Plan

Arrive in Chiavari on Saturday afternoon ready to settle in and get aquanted with your instructor/ skipper. On SUnday morning visit the local shops to stock up with your favourite foods and make a plan to set sail. You will then spend the next 5 days exploring the local area to siut you and your families needs. Returning to Chiavari Friday for your final night onboard ready to disembark on Saturday morning.

I moved to Italy with my family 7 years ago and we run a RYA Training Centre in Genoa. I have been sailing since the age of 10, initially on dinghies and then moving on to yachts. My husband, Ian is the course instructor and he is a fully qualified RYA yachtmaster instructor, examiner and with many years of experience.

Armilla is a great yacht for teaching and relaxing. With rigging replaced March 2021, twin helm stations and a framed bimini she is ready for the summer. Below deck there are 3 spacious double cabins, 2 heads with showers and a large saloon area.
