- What to expect from the course
Doing the miles and gaining experience is essential for any budding sailor. Embark on Mile Building voyages for world-class sailing and training.
- Expert advice
Once on the boat, you will get expert guidance from the skipper, from digital and chart navigation to trimming the sails, you will accumulate a lot of experience and cover between 250 and 500 nautical miles.
- Guard system
On the Galician route, there will be a mix of day and night navigation, the usual surveillance system on board: the guards. Every 24 hours maximum, the ship will anchor or arrive at the port to be able to rest and return to navigation with renewed energy.
- The Meteorology
Lots of miles to go, daily weather analysis pushing barring weather alert.
- Gain experience
Our Mile Building program is designed for you to gain practice with instructors who will help you shorten training times.
- Night Navigation
After the sun goes down, the sea looks like a very different place. In this activity, you will practice night navigation at least half of the days of the voyage, knowing and practicing the use of the electronic aids that modern boats have.
- Miles for RYA courses
As you progress through the RYA training scheme, you will need miles earned for Yachtmaster courses. In this activity we cover between 300 and 450 miles with several passages of more than 60 miles.
Trainee RYA skippers requiring 60 mile passages are advised to first obtain the theoretical Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster.
