RYA Day Skipper Course in Genoa, Italy

The RYA Day Skipper Practical course is ideal for aspiring skippers with some yachting experience and basic navigation and sailing skills.
Sailing is about so many things, but being able to sail to new destinations must be pretty near the top of the list. During the five days, our aim is to visit as many different locations as time and weather permit. From the beautiful anchorage in the bay of Porto Fino to the East of Genoa to the wonderful town of Varazze to the West. In addition to those mentioned there are lots of small ports enabling us to practice close quarter boat handling but also have a delicious lunch in a local restaurant.

Our RYA Day Skipper Practical course will begin by spending the first day making you feel relaxed and ready to learn, your instructor will be able to assess your level of experience and help you improve and develop day by day. Every evening your instructor will spend a few private minutes with you, reviewing the day and sharing with you areas for development. Each day you will notice personal improvement in both skill and understanding.

We do our best to create a relaxed learning environment where learning becomes fun. We all make mistakes and sailing is one of those activities where no matter how experienced you are, you never ever stop learning.

Other information

As this is a follow-up course from the RYA Competent Crew course it is required that you have at least the following experience: 5 days on board, 100 nautical miles, 4 night hours on board a sailing yacht. It is also assumed that you have basic navigation and helmsmanship.

In order to get the most out of this course it is recommended that you attend the Day Skipper Theory shore based course beforehand or alternatively complete this course online. Please ask me for details if you require this experience.
