By completing this course in Altea you will already be able to obtain the necessary certificate to work on ships. The duration of the course is 70h. At the end of it, an exam is carried out in order to accredit having completed the complete course, passing this the certificate is obtained.
The Basic Training course in Maritime Safety will train you to acquire the necessary knowledge to carry out organization and supervision tasks in safety and emergencies on board a vessel according to the STCW95 training agreement.
After the course and the recognition, you will also obtain the maritime booklet, issued by the General Directorate of the Merchant Marine and requested by the Maritime Captaincy.
This certificate is valid for five years. Before its expiration, it is important to renew it at any maritime captaincy. To do so, it is necessary to meet one of the following requirements:
- Accredit three months of shipment in the last year of validity of the certificate, carrying out tasks related to it.
- Have one year of shipment in the five years from the issuance of the certificate, carrying out tasks related to it.
