Adventure offered by Joaquin

We will make the Atlantic voyage from Cape Verde (Marina Mindelo) to the island of Martinique (Caribbean), on our Lagoon 42 catamaran, and a new and fantastic model this year, the Lagoon 43, which offer all the amenities for a trip of this type.

When we arrive in the Caribbean, we will spend a few days on the island of Martinique and stop at some of its wonderful white sand beaches; Playa Salinas is one of the most beautiful. We will conclude our Atlantic crossing in Le Marin Bay.

Martinique is famous for its sugar cane plantations and its rum production, so we'll take the opportunity to honor the Pirates of the Caribbean and taste their good wines. Rhum Clement, one of the best we can taste, is especially famous. It will also be a good opportunity to get lost on its beaches and climb to the top of Mount Pelee, where we will arrive through countless sugar cane plantations and amazing landscapes.

From Martinique we can take a flight back to Europe. It is an island in the French Antilles, so it is part of Europe and you don't need any type of visa or passport to enter or leave the island. For this reason, it is very well connected and has countless direct flights to France and other parts of Europe.

This will be our 8th crossing of the Atlantic. We will enjoy magnificent fishing and whale watching. In this adventure, we will also sail with trade winds, to enjoy an epic journey.

For those who have learned about this crossing and are more eager for adventure and sailing, there is an opportunity to sign up for our next voyage, which we will take with this same boat to the San Blas Archipelago in Panama, with 1250 nautical miles of sailing through the Caribbean Sea. You can book the trip with boarding options:

    - Lanzarote.

    - Cape Verde.

    - Marina Alcaides (Bay of Algeciras).

    - Funchal (Madeira, Portugal).

Before arriving in Lanzarote, we offer two more adventures, sailing around different islands in Macaronesia and Portugal. You can request more information about the prices of these other adventures and we will offer a special discount to those who book more than one of the consecutive adventures from the catamaran's departure from the waters of Cádiz (Spain) to their final destination in the archipelago of San Blas (Panama).

If you join the Atlantic crossing from Lanzarote, we recommend arriving a few days early to enjoy the island of the famous painter and sculptor César Manrrique, you can visit some of his houses converted into art museums. You can visit its beautiful and iconic beaches such as Papagayos Beach, Flamingos Beach, Golden Beach or visit the Castle of San Marcial de Rubicon Femes.

The island is also famous for its volcanic white wines, it is worth seeing these vines grow in that volcanic land that gives so much flavor and bouquet to its wines, the vines grow between stone banks to protect them from the winds, you can also visit some of its wineries.

We also have the Mindelo marina in Cape Verde as our last shipping port.

In the daily program during the voyage, there will be 4-hour guards, consisting of being in command of the ship and observing strange elements or changes in weather, force or direction of the wind. Prior training will be carried out to know how to act in the face of any change, in addition to the need to notify the captain to make decisions about the changes or inclemencies that may be encountered. Usually, these guards will be done during the day, since the captain will perform the night hours where greater concentration is required. We will also collaborate in the kitchen and in shifts: each one will have to cook and clean the kitchen alternately.

During the rest hours we will dedicate ourselves to fishing. Fishing equipment is included, but not baits. Everyone can bring their own; the most suitable and most successful catches are usually plastic squids, with different sizes or colors. However, we have baits on board, which you can buy for use.

Reading, as well as recording videos for your social networks or as a souvenir, are other good activities on board. We have a Samsung Smart TV, so you can watch movies or series. We recommend bringing a hard drive to connect to the TV for this purpose. You can also connect smartphones (Android phones work better, with iPhone it is sometimes difficult to communicate with the TV). We have a Bluetooth Hi-Fi system, where you can connect your mobile phones to enjoy good music on the trip. Exercise or yoga are also good activities on board.

The ship has the necessary communication equipment for the Transatlantic crossing: satellite telephone, NAVTEX, AIS, etc.

We also have a Starlink Satellite antenna: all crew members who want to use this antenna, which allows them to be connected at all times via Whatsapp, email and social networks (including Netflix) will have to pay for the GB used during the journey at the end of the trip, leaving a deposit deposit for the collection of this service.

The dates shown are indicative, since we rely on the Meteo for navigation.

The price is for a shared cabin, with one bathroom per cabin. You can request a single cabin with its own bathroom for double the price per person, applying a discount (see which one).

The ship will be supplied before it sails and the expenses of the food will be shared equally, as well as the fuel.

Adventurer and sailor with more than 30 years of experience at sea, I started as the owner of an 80-foot ketch-type schooner made entirely of wood, and after many years with classic boats, I changed rigs to sailboats and catamarans. I am passionate about sailing, fishing and diving.

More than half of the trip was by motor. He has two skippers for the trip, we were two travelers for expenses. Travel expenses to be added, as stated in the publication, fuel costs; it was 500 euros each; cleaning 150 each; STARLINK, 150 each; and food 600 each. The fantastic patterns. Very comfortable
